Hi,

Why do you have an earlier version of Adobe Reader if you have the full version of Acrobat 7?

I would suggest removing Adobe Reader 6 and using Reader 8 if you still require Reader to be installed ..

Jon

I've been using Acrobat since v1.0 and still get amazed by its power. An Acrobat ACE since 1999

To disable updates select Help --> Check for Updates then click on the Preferences. You need to be connected to the internet to change the Preferences.

This is a standard warning when a PDF is created at a high level than the viewing version of Acrobat/Reader. Some of the older versions of Acrobat/Reader do not support transparency etc. And such non-support could result in covered materisl that would be visible with a newer version.

As to upgrading, there are many organizations that will not let users upgrade their individual machines and are staying at an older version because they have not tested the new version or their applications require an older version capabilities and can not be interfaced to the newer version.
