Adobe Standard 8.0 Installation with an mst file Options

All,

I have ran into a couple of issues with this. I have installed Adobe
Standard 8.0 on a workstation with an mst file and I had some
incorrect settings that I needed to change. So I ran the msiexec
uninstall command for Adobe Standard and uninstalled the product. I
then rebooted the computer. I changed the mst file to the correct
settings and now when I run the install the new settings and reboot,
the old settings come back. Is there anything that I need to do to
resolve this issue?

Where does it store the settings in the registry or on the computer (cache)?

Most of the product settings are on the HKCU hive in the registry. I would try to uninstall - Regedit - goto HKCU\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat and start cleaning things out*.

You will still need to do the reboot after the flush.

I would guess that the problem is that the reinstallation is being perfomed as a repair rather than a fresh install. Repairs only write the necessary files - rarely is the registry touched, except when an entry does not exist.

* I, Adobe Systems, Acrobat Users, etc., etc., ad nausium are not responsible if an errant keystroke, cat on keyboard, dog attacking you to go outside, spilt coffee, tea, soda/pop, etc. causes your computer to no longer boot and leaves you with a large paperweight. In otherwords, swim at your own risk.

Would the directory "C:\windows\installer" hold on any cached settings? I ran across this as a possiblity. Because I noticed that the msi and the mst get copied here.

I have verified that I am doing a complete removal of Adobe Acrobat because after I run the msiexec command to uninstall Adobe( msiexec /x {AC76BA86-1033-0000-BA7E-000000000003} /qn ), I reboot the computer and verify that it isn't in Add/Remove Programs, verify that there are no registry entries that contain data, and also verify that it has been removed from Program Files.

The install that I am running is using the command:
msiexec /i C:\Adobe\Acrobat8\AcroStan.msi TRANSFORMS="C:\Adobe\Acrobat8\AcroStan.mst" /qn

Please provide any help that you can.
