hi,

today i installed adobe cs5 master collection on my new iMac, which included the newest edition of acrobat professional, 9.0. before this install, i had adobe cs3 and acrobat pro 8.0.

all apps are working fine, but when i attempted to launch the newly installed acrobat pro 9.0, the following message appeared:

"Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component [such as Adobe Photoshop] before launching Acrobat 8 professional."

i have yet to uninstall adobe cs3 and acrobat pro 8.0; i wanted to make sure that everything was working with cs5 master collection before i bid farewell to the old software version. i'm thinking this could be part of the problem, the conflict between versions. as a side note, i actually can't remember if i installed acrobat 8.0 bundled with all of the cs3 apps or separately.

any advice would be much appreciated!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.0, Macintosh

I have a simliar problem: I've installed CS4 on a Windows7 PC. In Word, when I try to print to PDF I get the same error message,
"Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component [such as Adobe Photoshop] before launching Acrobat 9 professional."
The PDF creation was aborted; I then opened Acrobat9 and created the PDF of the Word document.

When I open Acrobat9, the Help menu has the "Deactivate" option greyed out. There is no "Registration" option, which the support site says is the avenue to activate the program.

During installation, I entered the Licence Key and, on completion, completed the registration form.

I ran Photoshop without any issues.

How can I activate Acrobat or check that it is activated?
