Blank Screens and 6666 appearing rather than the document

We have an application that uses Prizm Viewer 7.x to open PDF documents within IE 6.0. We also have Adobe Standard 8.1 on each PC to allow users to manipulate pdf docs. We had previously used Adobe Elements 6.x which has been rolled into Adobe Standard. Since we switched over we have had many instances of users getting a blank screen or a bunch of 6's rather than the document. The work around is to shut down IE and open it back up. When we do this the document opens up fine. This is very sporadic and seems to happen for most people later in the day. Some users never get it and others get it multiple times a day. Some of our technical staff think that this may have to do with a know Adobe issue with memory leaks. We have rolled several users back to Elements 6.x and the issues go away. We don't want to roll back as Elements is no longer available so I am looking for any advise to help. Thank you for any help you can give me.

A blank screen is sometimes indicative of when a web browser isn't configured correctly with the Adobe PDF Browser plug-in, or if the web server on which the PDF file is stored can't serve the PDF file. Do you have multiple version of Acrobat on your systems (i.e., Elements and Acrobat 8)? Here is a technical note with further information PDF pages don't appear in web browser window (Acrobat 7.0 and 3D, Adobe Reader 7.0-8.0, and Acrobat 8).Try clearing the temp files in IE and also make sure that "Show large images" checkbox is selected under the Page Display Preference.
