I use full Acrobat (version 9). I need to do some testing on Reader. Can I install the same versions of both on the same computer and still have full Acrobat as the PDF default? Are there any conflicts?

Acrobat Standard 9.1, Windows

Hi,
fwiw -
All my boxes have "matched" versions of Reader/Acrobat.
No performance or functionality issues.
Somewhere out in Adobe space there is a page that discusses this issue.
When I'd looked it over I noted that there was no "same" version restrictions.
I'll put finding it again on my "rummage about" list .Be well...

Be well...

Thanks for the reply. On an unrelated thread, I saw that someone had said using both was unnecessary unless testing was required...exactly my issue! So I went ahead and installed it. I figured using the same version would make life easier. Besides, I need to do my testing on the most current version anyway.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi maryb889

I use Acrobat Pro Ex 9 and Reader 9 as separate installations on the same computer. I do all my work on A9 and then save the file as normal directory in Explorer. I then open it in R9 to check how it will be received when I send it on. It works well - especially with CAD that started life in SolidWorks. Incidentally SW 2009 works with A9 - yippee!
