Cannot access updates to Acrobat Pro 8.0.0

Acrobat Pro 8.0.0 under Wins 7 Home Edition.
 
After installation I select Help > Check for Updates and receive the following message:
 
No Internet connection was found. Please check your Internet settings or firewall.
 
There definitiely is an Internet connection to my computer, and I have not done anything special to my firewall.
 
Anyone know (a) how I might be able to access updates to Acrobat 8, and (b) how many updates are availablke for Acrobat 8?

You could manually install the updates. However, you should be aware that the first version of Acrobat to support Windows 7 was Acrobat 9.2 -- so you may encounter some unexpected behavior.
