I have Acrobat Pro 6 and Reader 8.1 installed on my windows XP machine. All of a sudden I cannot open pdf's with The full version. I have made sure that the file association is to Pro 6 but even if I navigate to, and d/click the exe file of the full version, reader opens. this happens however I open a pdf file.
This used not to happen. I installed reader cos it opens more quiclky from a browser etc but I need the full version cos I have a lot of files with pdflib blocks which I need to edit.
Has anyone come across this before?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 6.0.2, Windows

Hi jonboy18,

Sounds like an interoperabiity issue with Reader and the older version of Acrobat. Have you tried to run Detect and Repair for your Acrobat Pro. 6. This may correct the problem. Also, there is an interoperability guide with additional information available at:

Hi Lori

Thanks for replying. I will do as you suggest.
I have read somewhere that Adobe do not recommend installing both Reader and Pro on the same machine.
