error 1327 on upgrade

from looking across the internet, this questions arises constantly
 
in attempting the upgrade to 7.09 I get the 1327 invalid drive error message. I know why---I mapped adrive on the network which has been removed.
 
now, I am stuck. I cannot upgrade and I cannot uninstall.
 
What is the solution
