How To Fix Incompatibility Reader 9.x and Acrobat 7.1.0 Professional??

I need assistance from Adobe as to how fix this situation.

This is an XP Professional that had, up until this morning, a fully operational and fully licensed install of Acrobat 7.1.0 Professional.

Visting the Adobe website, I asked for Reader 9 to be downloaded and installed.

At no time was I warned of the incompatibility issue. The installer indicated that it was uninstalling 'previous versions'. Previous versions of what? Reader I had assumed.

So I went to process my collection of 600+ PDFs, and the XP tells me I need the install CD for Profession 7.

How do I fix this?

I need an answer today.

Happy Holidays.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0.9, Windows

Hmm. That prolly would have been a good idea. I had just had created a restore point prior to the MS IE 7.x Security Patch issued today. :snapping fingers:

I have gone ahead and started with uninstalling Reader 9.x and anticipate the full re-installation of 7.X Professional plus updates ( I hope ).

Tech support does not support 7.x Professional. They state they cannot find documentation to help me.

I guess the lesson here is that before installing anything Adobe, check their website for issues of any kind. Wonder why the installer did not warn me???

Kind of a clever method of planned obsolescence, don't you think.

So wish me luck. And thank you for your sugestion - it's the best answer I have gotten so far.
