Installing Acrobat disables Reader

After installing Acrobat 8 Pro, I am no longer able to see documents in my Adobe Reader (v7). They default to Acrobat, even when I right-click the pdf file and click [properties>open with] and try to force the document to open in Reader.
I would like to preview the documents I create in Acrobat thru the free Reader just as end users will do.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Windows

Get Reader started, and then open the document through Reader.

Or you could disable the "Acrobat Quick Start" in the startup folder and associate all Acrobat file types with Reader so Reader is the default application for all PDFs.
