I am trying to deploy Adobe Reader 9 by GPO across the company but I am having problems with the error listed above.

Most of our machines have Reader 8 which has already been deployed by GPO.

All of the answers I can find to this error involve using MS cleanup to remove version 8 prior to installing version 9. Not really practical on 1500+ machines.

The GPO works fine on machines with no reader installed but fails, giving the error 2753 if there is already any version of reader installed.

Any suggestions welcomed.

All client machines are XP and the servers are Windows Server 2003
