need to restart computer error

I have tried to upgrade Acrobat 8.11 prof to 8.12. The computer apparently attempts the install but every time I restart get the error "computer needs to be restarted before installation can continue". Tried the fix on Adobe site but no luck. Cleaned out all my temp files. Any ideas?

Acrobat Pro 8.1.1, Windows

What version of Windows are you running? Have you tried running the Repair Acrobat installation from under the Help menu?
