No PDF printer?

I downloaded the trial version of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from the adobe website and installed it on a new XP SP3 (this machine had no Adobe product before). I don't see the Adobe PDF printer in the Control Panel | Printers and Faxes (when I installed Acrobat 8.1 pro, I saw that Adobe PDF printer in the Control Panel). That means I cannot print to PDF from some applications like Firefox.

How can I add a PDF printer with Acrobat 9 Pro (Extended)?

Regards.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Windows

Try running Detect and Repair from the Help menu to see if it corrects the problem. If not, the following technical note Error "Warning 20225..." or no Adobe PDF printer appears (Acrobat 8.0 and Acrobat 3D 8.0 on Windows) has some troubleshooting tips.

I had the Print Spooler started and chose Help | Repair Acrobat Installation, then rebooted the machine, but still didn't see the PDF printer.

Do you have any suggestion?

Is this install to a local disk or shared network install? The PDF printer won't install to a shared disk.
Also make sure you install to a path that does not contain extended ASCII or double-byte characters.

Does the pathname to where you're installing Acrobat contain only standard characters?

I've also tracked down some other suggestions for this issue on the U2U forum at:

Do you have any other applications that create PDF installed on your system? Have you tried to create a new user local account with administrator privileges, and then install Acrobat?
Have you tried to install Acrobat in Simplified mode? If this works perhaps your Print Spooler has additional dependencies or the Path system variable is being reset by another application.

i just checked my registry as i noticed in other peoples messages for other issues that they had reg entries for the pdf printer. now i have my own hp printer listed and excel printer but nothing for pdf printer. this must be wrong ?. can i create some reg entries to make this work. i have acrobat 8 on another computer and it works fine , can i copy the reg entries for the pdf printer on that and put them on this computer... this may sound stupid but im trying all possiblities.

thanks
