Every time I run Adobe reader it creates very large temp files in the directory "C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0". It eats up my C drive space. Can somebody give a solution plz...

Thanks in advance... :)

Are you running Reader 8.1.2? Does this occur after printing? There were some issues in prior versions regarding Reader creating large temp files after printing that was corrected in 8.1.2.

Same problem is with Adobe Reader 9.0.0. Big (up to 32 GB) temporary files appear in
.... Local Settings\Temp\Adobe\Acrobat\9.0 too
And I think they appear during search.
Ex: 450KB 70 pages pure text. Every new search increases size of one file (T9.tmp) by ~120MB. Between the searches this file increases itself!!!! by 15MB chunks.

Is the solution to downgrade to version 7 ? Or hope that Adobe will repair it?

Me again -- I have now solution too (at least for 9.0.0)

Edit > Preferences, Search
Turn off "Enable fast find"

Side effect -- searches are now much quicker!
Its because, if On then reader must waste (my) valuable time to write big files to hard disk. Now it uses time for actual search!

Hi, I scanned in files and created searchable PDFs with 9 Standard. When I use the Find function, it does not find all instances of the word I'm searching for. Why?

What PDF Output Style did you select when you created your searchable PDFs? Also, what dpi were the scanned files?
