Problems installing Acrobat Reader X

When I try to install Acrobat Reader on a computer with Windows 7 I get the following error window:

UI_ReaderInstaller
Only a single instance of this application can run

It doesn't matter whether I run the installation file directly or first save it and then run it.

I do not have any other Adobe products running at installation.

Do anyone recognize the problem and know of a solution?

Hans,

Sounds like, somehow, the installer thinks there is another copy of the installer running. One of the ways this could happen is if you have both Acrobat and Reader installed and one is trying to perform and automatic update when you are trying to perform a manual installation.

You could check on this via task manager. However, I think a simpler solution would be to just reboot and try the installation immediately after logging back in.

Thanks
