am i able to install Adobe on another computer (new) after i delete it from my existing laptop (old)? do i need a new serial number?

Acrobat Pro 8, Windows

Do NOT delete/unstall Acrobat on your old computer until you deactive it.
To deactivate, click Help, Activation, Deactivate.

If you don't see this option, you may not have registered Acrobat, updated, or need to run the "Repair Acrobat installation" from the Help menu.

and what if you can't uninstall because the PC has crashed / died?

If you can not activate your copy of Acrobat, then you will need to contact Adobe Customer Service.
