Hi,
acrobate reader was installed on my system and worked, but not properly: it was not shown on the windows software list.
I uninstalled it - but it looks like certain parts are still somewhere.
When I try to install it, it says "error - already installed".

I run win 7 pro 64 bit, and have xp mode. On xp-mode, the reader 9.4 is installed and works.

But I cannot install (or re-install) it for windows 7.

Is there a way to donload an install it - besides to download it from adobe?

Thank you
Aschi

Hi,
it is solved - but perhaps somebody has the same problem and would like to know how i succeded.
First I deletet the remaining adobe reader data in different files. Then I had to delete it in the startt up programs. Finally, it was removed. But still, I could not download from Adobe Server.
I saw a possibility to download from a it-magazin (pcworld.de)the version 9.3. This came directly from the magazines server, and therefore it worked. After that I had only to upgrade on the reader programm under "help" - and it downloaded and installed the version 9.4. Now, the programm is properly showed in windows software list.

Hi Kevin,
are you sure you did remove all adobe reader parts? And removed it from the start-list?
If there ist nothing left, you could download adobe reader from any source or from a cd - but not from adobe server.
So far,it workes on my pc, and I can do the updates.

Try to uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs.

If the normal uninstall fails, use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove your current version, then install it again from scratch. You can download it from http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.php.
