"out-of-the-box."

Have logged over 30 hours with Adobe Support, Adobe Customer Service, Dell, and Microsoft.

Anyone have any ideas? Hangs at "Welcome" screen; not able to activate.

Appreciate hearing from anyone who had this problem and solved it. Have purchased two disks -- Staples and Adobe Customer Support. Have downloaded trial version from adobe.com.

I am having a problem installing Acrobat 8.0 on my new Dell inspiron 531 running Vista. The problem is with the Print Spooler. I get an error message saying the print spooler service failed and would I like to retry or cancel. I have tried four times to install or retry and every time it fails.

Here is the error message I get.

-- "Error 1920. Service 'Spooler' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Are you running Acrobat 8.0 or 8.1? Only 8.1 supports Vista.

It is Acrobat 8.0. I had to temporarily disable some things in order to get it on Vista. I just need to update it to 8.1 which I hope I can still do.
