Before upgrading from 7.0 Standard

Before I decide to upgrade to the current version, either Standard or Pro, I would like answers to the following questions.

1 - I have not seen any real fix to the 20225 error that was a part of Acrobat's 7.0 installation. Is this still a problem in the 9.0 version?

2 - When installing the new version should I uninstall 7 before installing 9?

3 - If you do not have the original CD can you still buy and use the upgrade to do a full and complete install (just in case of a total system reinstallation)?

4 - If I buy the 9 Standard does this have the same Form creation functions as the Pro version? Such as, taking a non fillable form and turn into a fillable form.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows

The "20225 error" appears to stem from a number of issues.

fwiw, one might say the issue was not singular to the Acrobat Install.

Yes, you ought to uninstall Acrobat 7 prior to installing a newer release.
Adobe, most consistently, states that having old & new installed is not recommended/supported.Can it be done?
Do not know re: Acrobat 9 and 7. Had 5 (full) and 7 professional on a laptop.
This goobered a number of things.
Fortunately my "needs" did not, for the most part, require these.
Sometimes, some work arounds had to be used to accomplish some tasks.

No install CD for Acrobat 7 may pose a problem when trying to install an upgrade product.
You might want to check with Adobe's customer support.

While not specifically addressing the subject of your question 4 the two links below will let you compare what release 7 and 9 do/do not perform with respect the releases' applications (standard, professional, etc.).

Thanks for the reply.

I do know that 13 step fix does not or did not fix the problem when I installed 7.

At this time any new update still shows up in the auto update even though the software is current. IE, About Acrobat says 7.1 the updater shows I need to download and install 7.1 for example.

Luckily I have used 7 without any problems to date.
