This past week I have been attending the 2008 E-Learn conference in Las Vegas.
E-Learn: the World Conference on E-Learning in Corporate, Government, Healthcare, & Higher Education is an international conference organized by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE) and co-sponsored by the International Journal on E-Learning.

This annual conference serves as a multi-disciplinary forum for the exchange of information on research, development, and applications of all topics related to e-Learning in the Corporate, Government, Healthcare, and Higher Education sectors. There were at least 10 presentation on the use of e-portfolios. For a full list see http://www.aace.org/conf/elearn/sessions/index.cfm/fuseaction/PresentationSearch?cfid=7765147&cftoken=96079567&search_field=Abstract&search_string=Portfolio&day=&topic_search_list=&confID=3033&do_search=true

In one paper entitled I, I, I, as in Individualised Inquiry based iPortfolios: Building access and success in Teaching and Learning. This paper examined the documentation of preservice teacher learning journeys through digital inquiry based portfolios. It is through, with and by the development of these iPortfolios that the students create layers of meaning for themselves, their peers and the staff who interact with them on that teaching and learning journey. Since the evolving of the learning and the documentation of that journey was entirely self inquiry based, the process and the product became indicative of the individual, capturing the uniqueness of each particular journey; transforming to become the I, I, I, content and the essence of an iPortfolio. As iPortfolio become more common in preservice education so will be the need for Acrobat 9.0 Pro to make this task easier.

Thanks for the reminder about E-Learn 2009. This is one conference that I try to attend and present at every year. It is a nice mixture of keynotes and concurrent sessions. Perhaps, there might be some interest in submitting a panel discussion on using Acrobat to improve e-learning. As I just got the following e-mail reminder from AACE calling for presentations. So let us know if you might be interested in joining a several others in a panel presentation and what you might like to discuss related to use of Acrobat in E-learning. Here are the details.

You are welcome? Will you be presenting? I just received acceptance notification for a presentation at this year's E-Learn conference. It will be on using Connect Pro, Presenter, Captivate and Acrobat to develop a model involving a multi-state university consortium to train mentors for rehabilitation counseling interns at state agencies. Hope to see you there.
