I saw that Acrobat 9 Standard will have Form creation functionality. Will it also have LiveCycle Designer, or will that only come in the Professional package?

Again Adobe continues to muddy the "form" issue.

There are 2 type of form creation through Acrobat. The AcroForms available to Windows and MacIntosh systems introduced in version 4 and the LiveCycle Designer, formerly JetForms and acquired by Adobe, incorporated into Acrobat 6 for Windows only and uses the XML form format. The comparison chart is not clear about this unless one knows the difference. Since the Standard version refers to "forms' and no restrictions while the "LiveCycle" forms include the restriction to Window only, one can assume that Standard is using the AcroForm technology and the Professional and Professional Extended will add the LiveCycle Designer forms.

Correct.

Acrobat Standard, Pro and Pro Extended all offer much improved "ad-hoc" forms workflows based around our AcroForm technology for both Mac & Windows. We've found that outside of enterprise, there isn't a need for LiveCycle Designer's XML-based form technology - so we've invested more in AcroForms.Leonard
