Acrobat vs. Reader

Hello, all. I could not locate a relevant topic, so I decided to create one. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro, and I understand it allows me to view PDF's within the application. However, my question is this: when Adobe Reader moves to a new version, since Acrobat Pro is a separate program, am I stuck with the viewer within Acrobat Pro, or is there a way to update the viewing portion of the application to meet the new standards of the latest version of the Reader?

Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated!

This is the Adobe Reader's job, Acrobat is more powerful…

No, the "viewing portion" of Acrobat is Adobe Reader, they are both always upgraded simultaneously, and you can upgrade the (free) Adobe Reader without upgrading Acrobat.
