Can images be inserted in a pdf via a form field? Example: Place different credit card logos in 3 separate fields which allows the user of the pdf to delete a credit card logo they choose not to display.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 10.0, Windows

You ca use button to display images, or a page from a PDF. You can then control the visibility of the buttons through JavaScript or Show/Hide field actions.

Create a button and on the Options tab set the Layout to something other than "Label Only". In the "Icon and Label" area of the same tab, select the "Choose Icon..." button and it allows you to choose a page from a PDF, or a number of other formats. You can also use the following as the button's Mouse Up JavaScript to do the same:

// Button Mouse Up script
event.target.buttonImportIcon();

Note that the buttonImportIcon method no longer works with Reader for no good reason. Reader can show/hide buttons that have been previously set up, however.

Dave, thank you.

When I searched Acrobat X's "Help" menu using the search term "insert image" (something that I've been doing for years in earlier versions of Acrobat), yours was the FIRST correct answer to this simple question. This forum was the fourth link in the list that came up.

The link at the top of the list gave an answer that was completely dead wrong:

Adobe: Acrobat - How to insert image in PDF file?
A PDF is an end product and therefore not meant to be editable. You need to go back to the authoring program, insert the image and then ...

Why are people having to spend HOURS pawing through mostly incorrect blog entries instead of having access to correct information from the software vendors?

Oh, well. Thanks for your correct entry!

Steve
