Hi,

We are looking a solution to create new form and edit an existing in PDF files and I have a couple of cuestions about acrobat standard and form posibilities, due to I cannot get a trial version for acrobat standard we have done some testing with Acrobat pro but we don't know if acrobat standard can does it too.

1) Can I create forms with acrobat standard? (add text fields, check boxes etc), has similar capabilities that the pro version?

2) It is posible change the default style image that a check box uses?, for example if I add a check box form field, then go to properties, options, I can found several styles cross, square, diamond .. but it is posible use another image for cross style that the default cross image? for example if it is posible personalize the cross for another

3) It is possible create a field that is automatically resized based in its content?, for example, I can add a new text field and the text field can be scrolled if its content not fit in it, but it is posible make a field that it is resized automatically if it content not fit in it?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can create forms with Acrobat Standard. One limitation is if you Reader-enable a form that includes digital signatures, Reader users won't be able to sign them.

For #2, the answer is no, unfortunately. I've long wanted this too. They should be like buttons and allow arbitrary icons for the checked and unchecked states. You can simulate a check box with a button with a bit of scripting, and even extend them to multistate check boxes, as demonstrated with the following two samples:

Button-Checkbox
Multi-state "Checkboxes"For #3, that's a job for XFA forms created with LiveCycle Designer, which comes with Acrobat Pro but not Standard.
