Adobe acrobat 9 - using check boxes and the calculate feature

I am creating a contract maintenance service form for our company. I have the form mostly created but for the "Total" field I need to be able to pull "$" values based on what check box options are selected. I tried several different options to get an auto-sum filled into the total field based on what options have been checked in the form, but to no avail. There are 4 service contract plan options to choose along with some optional items to select as well. So depending on what boxes are checked I want the "Total" field to provide to total sum of the checked items.

I would like to send the attachment of the form in its current state so you can see whats been done so far. So if there's a way to post an attachment or send an email to someone please let me know.

Kind regards

Chris

Just set the export value of each check box equal to the corresponding price, as opposed to "Yes" or anything else.

George - can you provide me an email so I can send you what i have so far? I am very new to adobe acrobat, so when I open the check box properties dialog box the only 4 tabs I have are General, Appearance, Options and Actions. The options tab has a couple options "CHeck box style" and "Export Value" which is by default filled in with Yes.

So are you saying to change the "Yes" export value to say "$120.00" which would be the $ value for that checked item?

Yes, just set the export value to 120. Don't include the $ character.

Okay, George your solution worked for talleying the checked items into the total field. Thanks so much. Now I need help with one more item. In our service contract form a user can select automatic monthly recurring billing, so if they check that box it will automatically populate the "Automatic recurring field" with their "Total" dived by 12 months?

I did include the "$" in the export value field and it all seems to work. Should I take it out?

Do not use any special characters except the decimal character and the '-' character in the export value. If you want the result to display a currency or other special characters for negative values you should set the format options for the number format. These settings will only affect the displayed value and the the unformatted value used in calculations.

If you write custom scripts, then be aware that the value of a check box or radio button when there is no selection if the character string "Off".
