After "enabling usage rights" can't use form in Acrobat Reader

Hi,

I created a form using Acrobat 8 Pro. I "enabled usage rights" so that colleagues with Acrobat Reader could open the form, fill it out and save the content with a new name.

It is a grade sheet for students. The teacher will input the student's name, check off boxes and then save iit and send it to the student.

I went to test it in Reader. I opened the file and I got a dialog box saying something about the form being changed. I hit OK, but then I was unable to fill out the form.

Am I missing a step?

Thanks from a newbie,

Maryanne

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Macintosh

Hi maryannem,

Is Enabling Usage Rights the last thing you did before testing in Reader? Any changes made to the PDF after enabling negates it and you need to apply the rights again.

Hope this helps,

Dimitri

Hi,

I don't think I made any changes. I just now opened the form again and enabled user rights. I closed it, but now, when I try to open it using the Reader, it only opens it with Acrobat Pro.

Is there a way I can force it to be open by Reader when I have Pro installed?

Thanks!
