Altering form security settings using Adobe Reader 8

Hi,

Hopefully someone can help with this query..

I have created a form in Acrobat Professional 8 with a variety of text boxes and list boxes.

I have enabled usage rights in Reader so that the form can be completed, saved and emailed by people who dont have Acrobat Pro.

However, the completed forms need to locked by the individuals who complete them in Reader before they are emailed to a 3rd party. The 3rd party must not be able to alter the content of the forms. They can only be allowed to read them and print them.

Is is possible to set these security parameters using Adobe Reader 8?

I will VERY grateful to anyone who can answer this question for me!

Cheers!!

James

Reader can not lock forms, but a signature field, created in Acrobat not sure about LiveCycle Designer, can be used to lock form fields upon signing.

I created a signature field in Acrobat Pro that allows me to lock the forms.. but only in Acrobat Pro it doesnt seem to work in Reader. Is that the point you were making?

(Might be a silly question..)

Can I only lock the form with Acrobat Pro?

What about Reader Extensions are there extensions available I can dowload that will allow me to lock forms with Reader?

Cheers!
