We're trying to create an application for employment that will be online for submitting. When I email it to someone to try it out, they get a message that says you cannot save this document with any new text in it. The only thing that can be saved is a blank copy of our application. Do applicants have to have acrobat standard in order to fill out the application? Or will just having reader work?
(Our goal is to have the application online so that they can fill it out, save it, and attach it to an email back to our HR department)
Acrobat 9 standard can "Enable Extended Form Rights" but there is a limit of distributing this form to more than 500 users. After that one should be using the LiveCycle ES server or paying a 3rd party to use their copy of the server product to enable the extended server rights. And there could be issues with end users with versions of Reader below 5.1 or other versions of Acrobat/Reader depending upon how the form was created or what JavaScript objects or methods are used. I would certainly try to keep compatibility to version 5.
