Auto Field Detection-Check Boxes vs. Radio Buttons

When I run my InDesign document through the auto field detection, it recognizes the circles in the document as check boxes, not radio buttons. Is there something I can do in InDesign to make auto field detection recognize radio buttons? Or is there a way to convert check boxes to radio buttons in Acrobat?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Macintosh

Each radio button group must have a group label or the object will default to the check box group.

For example:

Gender (this is the group label)
[ ] Male [ ] Female

Also, the Acrobat 9.1 version of auto-field detection has improvements to this feature.
