AutoComplete Not Working

I created a form for a weekly schedule where there is a group of people who rotate assignments. I can copy and paste names into the text fields or type them in but my users want to be able to start typing a name and have the names beginning with that letter or letters pop up so that they can select it without typing the whole name each time. I have set the Preferences in both LiveCycle and Adobe Reader for Basic AutoComplete. It doesn't work in any field except for the date field which I have set as Required where the text fields are not. I've even tried to open the form in a browser window that has an autofill component and it still doesn't offer any suggestions when I type. Am I missing something obvious?

There are a number of ways to provide this. If the users do not change often, one could use a drop down box. Or if one sets up the Acrobat/Reader application JavaScript folder with a special initializtion script, one can obtain the User Name from the identity set by the user in their application preferences.

Auotcomplete is also a user set preference that needs to be set on each users application. There is an Acrobat setting for controlling auotcomplete that might be able to be set when the form initializes.

I think I was unclear about the use of the forms. The users are from administrative staff who are filling in schedules for each month with the names of people who have volunteered. There are about 50-60 volunteers and a few different events each week.Users want to be able to start typing a name and have all volunteer names beginning with that letter appear so they can select it from the list instead of typing the entire name. I set the preferences in both LC and in Reader for autocomplete Basic (no numbers). The forms use text boxes for entering from one to four names of volunteers. The forms work fine when I copy and paste a name or type the full name but no matter how many times I've tried when I tab to a field and begin typing a letter, say P for either Pat or Pam, it offers no suggestions although I've entered both names previously. When I check Preferences to see what is under Edit Entry List, there is only one entry in memory which is the date captured from the Date field. If it's capturing that field there must be a reason why it isn't adding the names that l also entered. I have the Date field set as "required." I don't want to make the text fields required because the user(s) who are completing the forms may not have time to finish it and can send me a partially completed form if they desire. I hope this clarify my earlier question

Discovered the problem through process of elimination. I had set the text fields up to allow multiple lines because some entries have two names. This nullified the Auto Complete capability. When I changed to two text fields and unchecked multiple lines, it stored the entries I put in those fields. Now I have to redo my forms but it'll make it easier on the users.

Same problem... I am not a developer but user of forms on the web, fyi.

When I open a PDF from the State gov website, it opens within Reader in the browser (do not have full version just reader).
The forms all come in with the purple bar at top with "can't save data typed in this form, must print, blah blah..."

We used to be able to however fill in these forms to print, and then later when came back to them, the autocomplete worked and though that particular time using the form wasn't saveable, the field data was still there; e.g., start typing 4 and the previous zip codes with 4 came up, start typing M in the name field and the company name came up as an autocomplete option.
Now nothing comes up.

When I go to edit-preferences-forms, it is checked for all autocomplete, and internet options are set to remember forms in autocomplete also.

However, Edit Entry List in Reader prefs is empty/grayed out.
It will populate with what I do while in the browser and doing multiple tabs, but not once I leave and return. It used to do this, so it is possible.

Again, a user with Reader & gov forms only, not a developer or file host, so no way to program around it.It's a must for commonly entered fields (eg. company name, address, client names, addresses, descriptions, etc.)
