I want my PDF to take the text inserted in a textbox (form field) and automatically insert that text in subsequent textboxes with the same name.
It just won't work when I open the file in Adobe Reader.
I am using Adobe Pro 7 to create my PDF file.
I am sure the names of the form fields are the same.
I have another, similar, PDF file, created a few years ago by another user, that WILL do this when I run it in the same Acrobat reader program.
Are there other settings I need to adjust?
I do not want to get into JavaScripting because none of my staff know this and I don't have the resources to train them.
Please help!
Thanks
Are you in fact using Acrobat 7 Pro to create the form, or LiveCycle Designer? If you are using Acrobat 7 Pro and the fields are named the same this should work- can you post the file somewhere so we can take a look at it?
If, on the other hand, you are using LiveCycle Designer (a completely different program from Acrobat even if it is all packaged in one box), then you need to use the Global Binding feature in LiveCycle Designer. Here is the text on how to use it from the LiveCycle Designer Help document-
"To create a global field-
1. Add the required objects to the form design.
2. Give each object the same name.
3. Select one of the like named objects.
4. In the Object pallette, click the Binding tab. From the Default Binding list, select Global."
Hope that helps,
Dimitri
