Is Acrobat 8 Pro backwards compatible with older versions of Acrobat Pro (i.e., 6.0, 5.0)?

PDFs saved from Acrobat 8 Pro can be opened in earlier viewers as long as you don't use features not supported in earlier viewers. PDF/A documents would be accessible to all viewers. But files created as PDF Packages in 8 Professional, for example, won't open in viewers earlier than 7. A lot depends on the contents of your PDF files.
