Hi all,

This is about to hurt me big time. Data is due in 36hrs, and was collecting 75 returns.

Acrobat 8.1.1

1: I had tested this after the first few returns and all appeared to work well.
2: At about 55 responses I merged and was able to demonstrate that we had some good data and the table was Ok. This the stata person went off and was looking at generating all the charts and reports etc
3: The last few arrived, and I smiled and said, I would have a full dump in minutes... NOT :(

It does not matter if I select 1 or many of the returned xml data files, the CSV only contains the the xml file name... Great, I have 75 file names in a single column and no headers or data..... :O

Open with excel (Office XP) and the data is there, but in two rows (sort of) and with extra fields #agg.

Ran a repair of Acrobat....waiting ....waiting "long time later" re booted. SAME outcome. :(

I do not want to have to use excel to copy and paste etc, to manually merge all my xml files...

Did I say that I am now at home... and have until the morning 12hrs away to get the merged data into the stat's person!

While I will need to get Acrobat working correctly again, if it is not a simple setting? Is there any other simple method I can use to get my xml files merged in such a manner that I can meet my deadline... :)

All I can offer is my thanks... but you will have it clearly communicated.

Got hold of the IT support desk and was advised to uninstall 8.1.1 and the only install ver 8.1 and do not update (we do not use office 2007). A quick trip back to work, and then re install off the Novell server with the 8.1 msi.

Looks like it is now working..... ????
