Cannot copy & paste multiple fields from one document to another

In case anyone comes across this same problem, here's how I resolved it.

I had two PDF documents, doc A and doc B. Doc A has several hundred text fields all named and aligned perfectly. Doc A was created several years ago (Acrobat 6 maybe?) on a different computer.
Doc B is a new doc that has had some other changes made to it but still needs huge chunks of those text fields from Doc A aligned and named just as they are in Doc A.

When I tried to paste multiple text fields from Doc A into Doc B only one of the text fields (the anchor field) is copied. This was intermittent however, some groups of text fields would copy/paste to Doc B just fine, others would not. As a test, I found that I could successfully copy multiple text fields from Doc A back into Doc A.

Turns out that there was an embedded esoteric font (Geometric Slabserif 703 Light to be specific) in Doc A that was not installed on my current machine where Doc B is being worked on. I noticed that when only the anchor field would copy to Doc B it's default font in that anchor field was set to Helvetica and not the Geo Slab that I needed.

To resolve all this, I merely had to install the Geo Slab font on my new computer to make it available to Acrobat 9. Now all fields copy and I'm happy.

It's strange that the lack of a font would manifest itself in this way with no other warning, but there you go.
