Hi!

I have the pdf file with Acro Java Script. When I open this pdf file via acrobat plugin for Mozilla Firefox, i get the message box with note "You cannot save a completed copy of this form on your computer, If you would like a copy for your records, please fill it and print it.".
Is there any way to avoid or turn off this message, apart from clicking "Dont show it again" checkbox?

Thanx in advance, Konstantin.

Is the Reader plug in being used?

Unless the Reader Extended Form Rights have been enabled Reader can not save any form data whether being opened by Reader or the Reader plug in a web browser.

The message is for the end user and if they turn it off they will never know if they can save the form or not.

Hi! I have the same problem. My AcroForms, built in v9, are enabled so the Reader can save the filled in form.
However, when they open the form (in a browser window), they get the "cannot save form" dialog box. The notification/purple bar indicates that the form CAN be saved. And the form can be saved.
The dialog box is just annoying (and confusing).
Any thoughts?

One has to do the whole enabling and closing the form, do not do a "Save" or "Save As..." or you will remove the extended rights.

Hi,
I would like to restart this topic. I am having the same issue in the Reader plug-in for the IE browser. My client is complaining about the annoying and inaccurate message. It seems this message is activated regardless of the reader extension enabled.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

gkaiseril,
The issue is not the reader extending, because the form actually can be saved. The issue is the warning message.

You should read the FAQ - How do I Save a Completed PDF Form in Adobe Reader?.

Without the Extende Form Rights, you can save the form but only the form and not the form and data.

I believe the message is about saving the form with data just not saving the form.

Now, if the form has the Extended Reader Form Rights, there may be a message that the rights are available and the form can be saved with data.

The user can disable the messages by modifying their application preferences, "Edit => Preferecnes". Also if one is using Acrobat and not Reader, there shoudl be no message.

Thanks for the reply gkaiseril,
This form was Reader Extended and can be saved with the data. That all works. Yet, the browser plug-in for Reader still shows that pop-up message. My client is distributing this form and would like to make sure that their users do not see this message.

Only the end user can control the display of the message. Adobe has a very strict concept about security around personal data and informing the user of any remotely possible infringement.
