Mac OS 10.4 using Acrobat Pro 8.1.0
I ran the "run form field recognition" command, and acrobat recognized some checkboxes. but of the many checkboxes that appear on my form, 2 of them cannot be edited or removed.
This is maybe a wild guess....but it is possible Acrobat thought those two checkboxes were radio buttons (which can have a checkbox form.) Try using the radio button form to see if you can edit or remove them.
