Combo Boxes and List Boxes how to not show anything

I am creating combo boxes for a real estate form that the realtor will be taking with to do pre-listing visits. Next to the room names there is a box that they can select whether the room is on the Lower, Main, Other or Upper Floor. If that house doesn't have that certain room I want the combo box to be blank and not show any floor level. As of right now when I create a combo box it automatically shows whatever the first item in the list is like Lower. How do I change this?

A common approach is to create an item in the list that consists of a single space, and set the default to this item.

For an AcroForm the only practical way to do this is to add an un-selected item to the list entries. For this purpose I've used a blank entry, " - ", "None", "Please Select One", and other text to let the user know that something needs to be selected.
