compress and upload pdf

I have a 700 page document that I need to compress into the smallest PDF size possible and upload it to the internet so that a client can download it. I have noticed that using a general zip utility does not compress the file very much at all. Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional offer compression options? Any suggestions on how I should go about this?

File compression occurs during PDF conversion. You can choose various options for compressing images at the time you convert a file. You can also use the PDF Optimizer to compress files according to attributes you choose in the PDF Optimizer. If you make any edits, use the Save As command to rewrite the file and you'll get smaller file sizes. After that, you best option is to break up the file into several documents if the 700 page file is too large for an efficient download.
