Converting .pdf into an editable Form

Hello,

I am working with a job application in .pdf format, that appears to be uneditable except for the limited use I have with the Touch-UP Text Tool (using ver 6 Pro). How can I convert this .pdf into a form, so that I can populate the fields? I have looked around for third-party software, but have not found what I'm looking for. I have also tried to save it as a .doc, but that didn't work either. Thanks, gm

Acrobat Pro 6.0.0, Windows

Hi bellancg,

Since you have Acrobat 6 Professional you can add your own text fields to the PDF unless it has security set to not allow changes/additions. Use the form tools found in View -> Toolbars- Advanced Editing. Use the Text Field tool to add/place fields on the PDF. Save, then with the Hand tool selected you should be able to type into the fields you created.Hope that helps,

Dimitri

You can edit the properties of the form field. In Acrobat for a form created using Acrobat, select the 'Forms Tools' tool bar and then select the 'text field' tool, a right mouse click will let you select the 'properties' for the field. Now select the 'Appearance' tab and set the appearance properties as you want.

I am trying to create and editable form in Acrobat 6.0 Pro.

When I create text fields, I only get one line of text and it just runs off the end, rather than wrapping and starting a second line. It is also aligned vertically in the middle of the box rather than being Top aligned.
I have not found a way to change that, and I would appreciate some assistance, please.

When in the Form Edit mode, right mouse select the field and select the "Properties" option. On the "General" tab change the "Orientation" option, on the "Options" tab check the "Multi-line" line option. Then click the "OK" button.
