Defining Tab Order

I have a bunch of fields that I created in a haphazard way, and they bounce around: 1, 5, 3, 2, 4, 7, 6, et cetera, and I would like to be able to number them in the order I want without having to start at the very beginning of the page. So if fields 1 through 4 are fine, but then it skips to 8, how can I restart the field at 5? I seem to recall (in version 5.0) being able to press a combination of keys (shift-click, control-click, something like that) to change the tab order of form fields. Does this functionality exist in 7.0 Professional? I can't seem to find it no matter what combination of keys I try.

Any suggestions are helpful.

Thanks,
Michael

Acrobat 5 has the tab order feature
Acrobat 6 and 7 use the page structure
Acrobat 8 is back to the tab order feature again

Go Pages/(right click)Properties and look at the ordering in there ..

PS - if you are Windows, the Livecycle Designer has a tabbing order feature if you wish to start using the dedicated forms tool?

I've been using Acrobat since v1.0 and still get amazed by its power. An Acrobat ACE since 1999

Michael:

If fields 1-4 are okay and then skip to 8, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on tab 4, then click on tab 8. Tab 8 will change to 5 and everything beyond that will renumber. You can bounce around after that. If 5-10 are now okay but then it skips to 15, you can ctrl click on 10 and then click on 15 to change it to 11, etc.

Hope this helps.
