hi,

created a button for navigation - duplicated it on 70 pages.
now I WANT to make changes to that button. I cant figure
out how to delete all the instances of that button - cut and delete
only works for that specific page and not the rest of the document.

thanks,

Try this...I'm not sure if it'll work but it's worth trying....

Using the button tool, select one of the buttons you made and want to get rid of.

Now, do control-a for Select All...

If this works, all of the buttons will be selected and be "blue"...but one of them will be red.

Put your cursor on the red button and hit "delete" (right mouse button choice, I think)

If it works, they will all be gone.

Let us know; if that doesn't work maybe someone else will think of something.

Hope this helps.

Acrobat is probably the program I use most often and I'm learning more every day.

No, you can't use Select All. Do this:

Open the Fields panel. You'll see your nav buttons labeled something like button#0, button#1, button#2, etc. Click the first field in the list and press the Shift key and click the last field with the same root name. Press the Del (Delete) key on your keyboard or open a context menu on a selected field and choose Delete from the menu commands.

But you don't need to delete your buttons in order to change the properties. If you want to keep the fields across all 70 pages, you can edit field properties for all the selected fields. Follow the same steps above to select the fields and choose Properties from a context menu opened from one of the selected fields. Any action or JavaScript you assign in the Properties dialog is applied to all the selected fields.

Hope this helps,
