Digital Signatures and Secured PDF for Reader Users

I created a PDF file which also is form fillable and the users must be able to save a copy with the data in the form. I need to also implement digital signatures.

So I added those fields to the document. Then I secure the document with a password. I then extend permissions to readers by clicking Advanced-Extend forms Fillin & save in Adobe Reader. I then save the PDF. When I go into the Document Properties, all permissions read "Allowed". However, when I open this PDF with reader 9.0, it will allow me to save a copy of the form with data, print it, but not digitally sign it. I do have a digital signature registered and can digitally sign other PDFs I've received from other authors. I'm confused. Please help!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.2, Windows

Hi rob,

Before you have secured the field and applied rights make sure you included a blank signature field first?
Then when applying the password security, in the changes allowed box at the bottom, you must choose the allow signing of existing field option. This will allow them to sign the document.

The reason why document properties are displaying wrong is because security is only applied on closing the document.

Thanks smitchell15. I thought that I had done it as you suggested. But to make sure, I went back to an older copy (prior to the security) and re-added the blank dig. sig fields. Then added the security. I am still receiving the same results.
