Digital Signatures: How Do Clients Establish A Digital Signature on Their End?

I am creating a form that needs to be stamped with date and time. Thomp has made a wonderful suggestion of using a digital signature. (thank you!)

I am starting to read about digital signatures now in a user guide. I understand that anyone that uses my form would have to create a digital ID on their end.

Generally, I believe that our clients would have a difficult time creating a digital signature. Is there an easier/fool proof way to have them establish one? Can I create one for them that they can customize?

The reason I ask is because we have about 450 clients that would need to be able to use the form, all of varying degrees of computer saavy.

I'm wondering if this is viable option for our entire client database. Are there clear instructions available that explain how to do this? (Or, a simplified version?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Dana U.

If they would be creating their own digital ID's, I would suggest that you create your own instructions, after you use Reader to create at least one. That way, you will become completely familiar with the steps that are necessary and can tailor the instructions to your users.

You should also provide instructions for applying the signature and become familiar with the various ways of doing so.
