Display file name and location within form

I am making a form and want the file name and location to generate automatically in the footer. How do you do this in Acrobat 8 Professional?

Hi dcronquist,

You can do this with JavaScript. My company has a tool (AcroButtons) for creating custom toolbar buttons for Acrobat, and adding the file name to a PDF is one of the included JavaScripts. You can download a free trial and create a toolbar for this and/or examine the code used to do it. Adding a file name to a PDF is also one of the examples shown in a product video on this page-
