Display Pattern Editing in Numeric Field

I would like to format the numeric field to display commas in between the numbers: 1,000,000.
In Field Tab, for "display pattern" I chose: ZZZ9 which works fine up to the hundred thousands. Once it hits millions, it loses its commas: 1000000

Please advise...Thank you
