"Double-Click on Attachment"Error when submitting form

Answered

I have created a form using LiveCycle and all looks good.

I have added a submit by email button with the appropriate email address etc.

When I test this everything works great.

When I distribute the form using Acrobat my colleagues are unable to submit the form. An Outlook diaglogue box comes up to "Check Names" as it was searching for the name "Double-click the attachement"

I have checked my email address in the identity and it is OK. I am baffled.

Thanks for any help.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2, Windows

I have to say I'm baffled too. This text is in the body of the message, and it worked on your own system. I'd try a couple of different things to try to find out a bit more of what's going on.

1. Change the submit email address.
2. Try it without going through the "distribute forms" process.
3. Send it to someone with a Mac and see what they get.

Thanks for the response.

1. I have tried changing the email address... No go...
2. I have tried sending without using the "distribute forms" process.... Works!!
3. I don't have any Macs to test with :(

If I can get it to work without using the distribute forms process I'm somewhat happy - at least it works. It would have been much nicer to use the "distribute forms" process though.

Thanks again.

Actually, you can still put the form into the Tracker and collect form data without using the Distribution Wizard.

Just to let know I've been experiencing the same error. The interesting thing is that it fails at work with the error message as you have described but when I sent it to my home account it worked properly.

At this stage I suspect there is a conflict with an outlook plugin but I'm still testing this hypothosis.

I do note that the colleagues machines that I tested this with, do not get the "purple form" bar in Acrobat and cannot submit using the submit feature of this. They also have no option to make this appear as it is greyed out in the preferences.

Do they have a different version of Acrobat?

In my case both work and home were using Acrobat Pro 9.2 (but maybe at different patches level)

At work I also tried using Acrobat reader to respond with the same outcome.

It sounds like the distribution wizard is doing something funky to the PDF. Perhaps this is a burp with 9.2. Have you considered upgrading to the latest patch?

Are your colleagues using a version of Reader that has been "packaged" by your IT department? If so, it may be that Reader was packaged with this functionality disabled especially because it worked on your home computer.

My colleagues are using the Acrobat Pro Extended. I have a feeling it may have been packaged by IT.

I am trying to get another version installed for them.

However, I am unsure of the "mass" user base install. This issue has only come up in my testing.

I have just re-checked my system and I have version 9.3.1. I am pretty sure my colleagues would have the same.
