Dynamic Field Size - based on Content

I've tried to search for the answer to this, but can not seem to find one. I would like to know if there is a way to make a field grow in size based on the content "fed" to it. This field will be populated automatically by a program, but I don't want the content to shrink as in the "automatic font". I want the field size to grow. For example, a variable list of items would be placed there.

Any help you can give would be appreciated. I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro, but also have Livecycle and don't know Javascript. So please be gentle.

Thanks,

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.1.3, Windows

You can do this in LiveCycle Designer but not in Acrobat.

Thanks. So if I do create a dynamic form or field in Livecycle, will it then work the way I want it to when I use it acrobat? What if I want to populate it and print it automatically through XFDF programming? One more item? If I create it in livecycle that means that I also have to maintain it in Livecycle as well doesn't it? I tried to add fields to a form that was created in livecycle and could not get that option to come up in acrobat. Please comment.

If you create a form in Livecycle, all changes in the future will need to also be made in Livecycle. You are right on that. Any forms created in Livecycle can be "used" in Acrobat or Adobe Reader, though.
