'Edit Layout' button disappeared & JavaScript quesiton

Hello,

I'm complete novice in Adobe forms & JavaScript. I have three questions:

1) The 'Edit Layout' button has disappeared from my form! When I go into Forms editing, the little preview button does show, but if I click on it to preview my form & then want to go back to make corrections, the toggle button to get back to edit layout is gone. What do I do?

2) I'm trying to put together a form for use in a testing lab. They want two things (I'm guessing these both would be done with an "On Blur" trigger?) ----
a) The operators enter data, & then they want the program to show an automatic 'time' stamp when that data was entered. (They also want an initial stamp, but it's not as important.)

b) An operator enters a start time & end time for an experiment & have program calculates & enters the total elapsed time.

Any help at all is appreciated. THANK YOU!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.0, Windows

Hi,

Today my "Preview" button has disappeared from my forms editing. What's going on, can anyone tell me what I'm doing for this to happen?

Also, any input regarding the elapsed time JavaScript? (An operator enters a start time & end time for an experiment & have program calculates & enters the total elapsed time.)Thanks in advance for help.

Have you looked under the 'View' option of LiveCycle Designer's 'menu' bar and selected the 'Preview PDF' or pressed the 'F5' button to bring back the "Preview PDF' tab?

You can also use the 'View' option to restore the 'Design View' tab.

As to programing the date and time actions, you can start with looking at the 'Scripting Reference' under LiveCycle Designer's 'Help' tab. You will probably find FormCalc easier to do these tasks in than JavaScript.

I'm not using LiveCycle Designer, I'm using Adobe Forms. Sorry, I should have said this at the outset.

I've lost most of the buttons on my toolbar, such as Edit Layout and Preview. I see that this problem has been posted by other people on this site, but no answers.

I'm not using LiveCycle, just Acrobat Pro 9.

Can anyone advise?

Acrobat does not have a 'preview' tab like LiveCycle Designer does.

To view the working form and not the edit layout, select the hand tool or exit the 'Edit Form in Acorbat' option.

Have you looked under the 'Tools => Forms' menu option and selected the 'Show Forms Toolbar'?You also might try the right mouse clip on the tools bar and select the 'Forms Toolbar' to be displayed.
