Editing Live Cycle Forms in Acrobat

I have a series of forms that were originally created in Live Cycle. I want to edit them in Adobe Acrobat Professional 8, but when I try to select "Edit Form", I receive a message box that the form must be edited in Live Cycle. Is there a way to toggle editing between the two programs?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.0, Windows

Hi jenniferbunecke,

PDF Forms created in LiveCycle Designer are XFA based and not at all the same as an AcroForm PDF form. They are two different forms technologies that typically are not interchangeable. It is really best to edit the form in the program it was created in, i.e., if you have a LiveCycle Desinger PDF then edit it in LiveCycle Designer. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches that way.

If you do some searching in the forums here you will find this topic discussed frequently.

Edit- here's a good article on the difference between AcroForms and LiveCycle Designer PDF forms-

Hope this helps,
