Editing a logo and text in acrobat

However, the correct way to fix this is to fix the original document and reconvert it to PDF.

There are some things about this form that make it difficult to edit.

First, the font used in the logo text is an embedded subset of a font for which there is no substitute on a standard Windows System. In this situation Acrobat will prohibit any editing of the text witht the "Text TouchUp" tool because it doesn't have a clear way to draw the added characters. It also prohibits changing the font to something that you could edit.

Next, the logo text is grouped in the same text block as the other text on the page. So it can't be separated out as an "Object" and deleted with the "TouchUp Object" tool.

The only way to remove this information is to use an advanced PDF editing tool like [url=http://www.windjack.com/products/pdfcanopener.php]PDF CanOpener[/url], which is for viewing and editing the PDF structure. This tool will give you access to the actual page content. However, this is an expert tool and you have to know a little something about how the PDF content is organized before using it.

But like I said before. This is not how PDF is supposed to be used. Ideally, if you own the document you should have access to original, in its original design format. It's this file that should be modified and re-converted to PDF.

I do not own the form which is why I need to remove that one set of text. Then I need to add text to the right of my logo which you never instructed me on how to.

Since I don't have the can opener software, would you be a nice guy and remove it for me and return the form?

I want to make sure we are on the same page. I sent you 2 forms. The first form is the copy of the original where I removed all I wanted to remove except for lower right hand corner of page 2.
The second form is the result. There should be no reason why if I was able to delete the other logos and text on pages 1 and 3, then I should be able to delete the text on page 2. It's all the same!

Yes, I recieved the two forms. And no, I don't provide free work, only a little free advice. And I'm certianly not going to work on a document that you don't own. There are ethical, and possibly legal issues with this.

The appearance of text and images on a PDF page may look the same, but under the covers the page content can be organized in completely different ways. So they are not "all the same". This is exactly the situation you have. The Acrobat "touch-up" tools only work within the simplest way of handling page content. This is why they are called "touch-up" tools instead of "editing" tools. You want to perform a complex action that is outside the normal operation of these tools and Acrobat in general.

For this type of thing you need to go back to the original document, and if you don't own it they you shouldn't be doing it anyway.

But there is a very easy solution. Use Word, or some other document creation tool to re-create the document you want, then convert it to PDF. That way you own and control the document.
